INDICE

Dear guests, we are very happy to welcome you to our home!

Let us introduce ourselves: we are Riccardo & Valeria, a Roman couple of enthusiast voyagers who especially love Polar regions and off-the-beaten-track destinations. We are looking forward to share our passion with you and exchange knowledge and culture.

Unexpected Rome bnb Rome

Riccardo is a historian and musician fond of cooking, while Valeria is a photographer and official tour guide in Rome with an architectural background.

The 3rd member of the family is Snorri, a medium size dog who really behaves!

Our Bed & Breakfast is located in a renovated historical building in the city centre, right on top of one of the Seven Hills of Rome.

The Opera House of Rome from our window

We live in front of the Opera House in a nice and well connected area: the closest station is 4 minutes walk, a handful of stops away from the Colosseum, Trevi fountain, Spanish steps, etc. all reachable in about 10 minutes.

As you can read in the description below, we can accommodate up to 5 people.

Breakfast in our private house
Every morning we will open our private living room and kitchen and Riccardo will prepare breakfast for you.

How to get here & What’s around

As you can see on the map, Unexpected Rome belongs to the historical Monti district.

We are right in front of the Opera House, just behind us there is the Papal Basilica of S. Mary Major, the Thermal Bath of the Emperor Diocletian – photo below – and the stunning National Roman Museum, just to mention a few examples.
As regards our most famous landmarks:

  • Colosseum. 10 minutes by underground (19 min. on foot).
  • Spanish Steps. 8 minutes by underground (18 min on foot).
  • Trevi Fountain. 13 minutes by underground (16 min on foot).
  • Vatican Museums. 20 minutes by underground.

If you’re looking for aperitivo, shopping and great food, you’re in the right place, as well!

Monti district is famous also for vintage shops and bars; furthermore in Termini station there is the Central Market: a paradise for foodies!

From the airport

Pick-up service available. Fiumicino International Airport is about 30 km/19 miles away: to reach our place it takes about 40 minutes, it depends on the traffic.

By train and by bus

We live 7 minutes walk from Termini, (the main station), where you can both catch a train to Florence or Venice and take the underground – A and B line – to explore Rome.

The closest metro stop is Repubblica – A line – that it is only 4 minutes away.

Buses are never on time, but there is plenty of them around our home: we have bus stops both by Termini and in via Nazionale by via Torino.

By car

If you are doing an on the road trip, be aware that driving in Rome is a bad idea. There is lack of parking spots and our street – as many others in the center – belongs to the “Limited Traffic Zone” where only taxis and cars with special permissions are allowed. Furthermore people drive in a crazy way and roman roads are bumpy.
